Ironmon challenge created by Iateyourpie. Slight customizations made for VitalsLive's Twitch stream. I've decided to use this ruleset after not enjoying our Pokémon Black Hardcore Nuzlocke as much as the one we did in HGSS. I brainstormed what elements of our runs that I liked/disliked, as well as what chat liked/disliked, and I think this ruleset provides a more fun and entertaining experience. Rules are subject to change, but only between runs. I must complete the game (Beat Champion) w/ the following rules: 1. I can only carry up to 6 Pokémon at a time, and cannot use PC storage. If I want to add a 7th Pokémon, I must release/dead box one. - The only exception to this is capturing an HM user for outside of battle if none of my current Pokémon can learn an HM necessary for progression. The HM user cannot battle. If it's forcibly swapped in by a Pokémon move, it must be immediately swapped. It also cannot be sacked. 2. I can only catch/kill one Pokémon per Route. It does not have to be the first one that I see. 3. I can only gain XP by defeating Trainers. No wild Pokémon grind. 4. I can only use items that I pick up, no stores. (Pokéballs/Repels are an exception) 5. Once a Pokémon faints, I must release/dead box it. No exceptions. 6. Once I've wiped, the run is over and I must restart. This applies to any battle. 7. I must make a starter selection before looking at any PokéBall. Then I may view them. 8. If I accidentally kill a Pokémon while trying to catch it, I will not be able to capture a Pokémon from that Route. 9. 50% Level increase on all Trainers. 10. In the event that I accidentally kill or capture more than one Pokémon on a route, I cannot kill or capture on the next route. 11. If a Pokémon dies while holding a held item, the item is lost too. 12. No-way-out Gyms - Once I enter a Gym or Dojo, I must defeat ALL TRAINERS + CANNOT LEAVE UNTIL I GET THE BADGE. Win or die. 13. No-way-out Dungeons - Caves/Hide Outs/Mansions/Buildings w/ Trainers also must be cleared in one attempt, without leaving. This does not include Routes, Forrests, Safari Zone, etc. 14. Battles must always be Set. 15. All wild Pokémon encounters are randomized 1-1. Trainer Pokémon are also randomized with similar strength to their canon teams. Legendary static encounters are randomized with other Legendaries, while non-legendary static encounters are randomized with non-legendaries. 16. All static encounters are obtainable, but are subject to the same team limit rules as wild encounters. 17. Shiny clause: If at any point we encounter a shiny Pokémon, that Pokémon is immediately catchable and ignores all other catching rules. It still must abide by the 6 Pokémon limit. 18. All TMs and Move Tutor moves are randomized. Full HM and TM compatibility are on, but only to prevent incompatibility bugs. I use Serebii to determine whether a Pokémon can learn a TM or HM. Move Tutor moves are subject to the same rules. 19. Trainer Pokémon are forced to be fully evolved at level 50, to ensure the Elite Four is as difficult as possible. 20. We are able to choose 1 of the 3 starters without looking, OR choose to catch the first Pokémon we encounter in Oak's Safari Zone. If we decide to take the catch, we can then look at the 3 starter options, but must stick with the catch. If we fail the catch, the run is over.
