Unliving metal and stones held no appeal, nor did studying dusty scrolls and locking herself in a library all day. Mercy wanted to see the world first-hand. Always restless, even as a hatchling, she left her birth clan early. They wished her well and sent her on her way with a smile on their faces. Her first home was an Earth clan. They took her in and taught her their ways: how to survive, but also the value of other dragons. Their principles became her most cherished beliefs. Through them, she found her calling: she would become a healer and live her ideals every day. A Light dragon at heart, Mercy spent her time studying everything about her new passion that she could get her claws on. When others were asked where she was, they would always give the same answer: “Out in the field.” From spells to rumors of new processes to plants of every type, she sought it all. Mercy traveled from The Shattered Plain to the Pillar of the World and back in search of knowledge. The plants of Earth were especially interesting to her; she was fascinated by how they grew even in the harshest of conditions. stonewatch flatblade How to get it? stonewatch flatblade Eventually, though, she outgrew what the Earthshaker’s territory could offer her. There was an entire world out there. Earth was never meant to be her final stop, though it would always hold a special place in her heart. Their goodbye was bitter-sweet, but they understood. She was still young and restless. Mercy’s wanderings took her to every place in Sornieth. From the deep jungles of Nature territory to the frigid planes of Ice, Mercy saw them all. The enchanted journal bound to her waist holds a record of those times. Every plant, spell and process she found, they are all recorded in meticulous detail. It is well over 500 pages long. The drawings inside are neat and clean, annotated with clear and informative notes. In the margins, though, is something like a journal: everything she saw and everyone she helped, they all found her way into her notes. Mercy saved Shadow for last. The other Light dragons had taught her that Shadow dragons were wicked and capricious enemies of knowledge. Maybe they would attack her. Would they destroy her notes too? But Mercy was determined to see every place in Sornieth—even Shadow. What she found there took her by surprise. The Tangled Woods were alive with strange and unique plantlife. Enchanted by the glowing mushrooms of Wispwillow Grove, Mercy settled down with a small clan. They were welcoming, thrilled to have a healer. Luckily for Mercy, they had no idea what they were getting into. Mostly, she heals scrapes from the thorns and bruises from collisions in the murk, but Mercy is capable of healing much greater injuries. She has pioneered many new processes and tinctures, thanks to experience and plenty of experimentation. She is constantly trying out new methods, much to the chagrin of her patients. Some of her methods can border on dangerous or at the very least, untested. Though she may live in Shadow, Mercy has never left behind her Light roots. Often bored by treating nothing but scrapes and bruises, she will travel and offer her healing services to more interesting patients. Though her clan mates might disapprove, they can’t argue with her results. Mercy grows more and more capable by the day. stonewatch flatblade How to get it? stonewatch flatblade However, should any of them try to argue with her, they’ll find that Mercy has a sharp tongue. Impatient and quick to snap, especially when worried or frustrated, many a dragon has found themselves on her bad side—and the bad side of a massive imperial is not where anyone wants to be. Mercy is sure she knows the right way when she sees it and won’t bode any dissent, no matter how small. Her foul temper has made her a few enemies, but most are swayed by her healing prowess…and the eventual apologies that most of them receive. Though Mercy has a temper foul enough to frighten even a Plague dragon, she still tries to be kind. Those who wind up on her bad side often receive small gifts and a promise to be better in the future—though this promise is not always kept.
