- repeat for every page

Long explanation:
- by checking the cache, I can see that the reader retrieves scrambled images that are then unscrambled by the reader which is a 3k lines obfuscated javascript.
- the reader ultimately renders everything on a html5 canvas, so I immediately tried
document.getElementsByTagName('canvas')[1].toDataURL()
from the javascript console but it didn't work because of the CORS security stuff.

- restarted chromium with --disable-web-security
- toDataURL now works and I can simply open and save the base64 data url as an image.
